silence reigns, for the music has gone.







a hummingbird’s song
is all
that remains
in this nightingale soul.







spring rain,
now a cacophony of pain,
washes the fear from my stare.




but this
shameful,
sheltered,
shattered heart
reflects a thousand fears yet untold.
