mirror frontin’ with the yams

awestruck
and
trembling,
and humbled by the magnitude…
we rise triumphant,
again.

sailing
free
upon these roiling currents
of lovetruth,
destiny,
and single malt brew.

will you
dare

to know?

could you
dare

to be

the truth
and wonder
simmering deep within?

demon child,
birthed in the darkness and
graced by starfire,
the world waits
your wicked desire.

come,
let us dance together
as we devils do,
clutching infinity,
for we are too few.

Dawn Thunder

giants loom
in the cracks
of these tiny hours,
casting shadow
against the softness of night.

yet,
this light-
ness of spirit,
burning so bright
and so pure,
cleaves ever unto
truth,
as river
sculpts
rock
and time
to perform the impossible,
with patient and placid persistence.

but,
before you slip
smoothly
into this stream of wonder,
flowing from the font within,
a warning, to the dreamers:

Beware,
for here there be devils at play,
carving miracles with love,
and with flame.

Beware,
for the future knows your name.

...

and as a crimson tear falls
up the corner of a deep purple sky,
Destiny calls
as night dances away,
and the last mothers bow down
and cry,
for a new day rises,
and they fear the coming fall.

a million miracles

whispers in the wind
brushing free
yesterday's need,
and
the
chit-
chatter
gossip of birdsong
ring this
moment
with chaotic calm.
As is Her way.

humbled,
awestruck,
and empowered,
i kneel
and give thanks
for the beauty.

a mere spark,
of an itinerant flame,
seeking secrets
that loom within.

let me sing and
let me dance.
let me share the joy
of you,
with you.

this boundless love is yours,
mother,
so let us
dance,
as children do.

wild things, sons of apollo

all twisted
up,
and
down in shadow
and ash,
we find you.

so
low,
on your belly
you roll,
begging
forgiveness of your soul,
for the missed opportunities and
self-deceit,
for the fear that ruled you,
and
for so much more.

but
only silence.
and
shadow respond.

silence,
and shadow.
.

and you retreat
into the empty corners within,
exploring the void,
mourning what never
could never have
been.

rise up, Brother,
you are not alone.

do you hear the rumbling
of the drums,
beating
deep inside your chest?

mama calling.

the drums pound,
flowing lost rhythms straight through your bones.

papa calling.

the drums sound,
rattling the fear out from your bones.

destiny calling.

and when the dark moon rises,
Our soul fire
lights the cold winter night,
with a fury long lost,
but ne'er forgotten.

ne'er
forgotten.

so come,
and let us scald sun and sky
with wicked pursuits
and love eternal.

Moon’s Kiss

it is not love
i seek
in your effervescent shine.

nor do I yearn
to dive too deep
into
your wonder,
and feel your splendor
unfold.

but,
as you glide
so soft across the night sky,
full of grace and
mystique,
and so much style,
you remind me of
what it means,
to be truly free.

so,
under your ancient ephemeral glow,
we laugh and
dance like demons lost,
full of decadence,
and forbidden de-
light.

too loud,
and
with piercing fire in our eyes,
we call out
your name
and give thanks
for the love you show.

Yeah,
we thank you,
and we burn so fucking bright.

breaking the wheel

slipping back
into the comfort of night,
i delight in mysterious wanderings, and
the unanticipated invitations
of love, and
fear,
and all the fury in between.
only to slip back
into a clarity unwanted.

I dare you
to walk with me,
down this path
and
through these wicked gates,
into infinity
and beyond,
where
day meets night
to simmer soothingly
over hearth
and bone.

take a sip
of this future
seasoned with ash
and happenstance,
and,
just a dash of wonder.

a song

bring me
more
of them sweet rain drops,
the ones that slip
through branch
and leaf
with naive &
bumbling grace,
like children
rolling gleefully
down
hills of grassy green.

i call for the tempest
in all her wildness,
and for skies
so deep in grey,
that Moon feels welcome
to slip in and play.

in this welcome calamity,
on my knees I sing,
for the hope
of a rainbow:
Gaia’s dream.

so,
please,
kiss me
again,
like you used to do,
and let us light the bright
with a magic so
fresh
and so new.

star song

jubilation
rings so sweet
in this heart,
bursting full of the old magic;
weaving dream
and wonder
into golden harmony.

come,
warm yourself
by this song,
and sup
from this
cauldron,
asteam with earthly delight.

for there is a longing
to perform miracles again:

these words hunger
to tickle your breath with tales of hope again; and

these hands yearn
to plunge you deep into the wildness of love again; and

these lips wish
to beckon you with whispers of fire again; and

this soul shall once again
touch the soft corners your heart.
