howling
in the midnight wind.
pleading
for me to live.
who
have i become?
beg dry
and frightened eyes.
where
am
I?
i accept the sins of my past
which boil in my blood.
why won’t you feel history’s pain,
which taints yours.
dont you
want,
to be free?
howling
in the midnight wind.
pleading
for me to live.
who
have i become?
beg dry
and frightened eyes.
where
am
I?
i accept the sins of my past
which boil in my blood.
why won’t you feel history’s pain,
which taints yours.
dont you
want,
to be free?
lapsed
and dormant,
we watch the world
spin.
Pleasure
forgotten.
Ecstasy,
nothing more
but a memory
long lost.
for what do you hunger?
for whom do you lust?
why have you not devoured?
do you fear the surrender
found in each thrust?
this world waits.
we wait.
i wait.
for you.
on the
rise again;
on the road,
one more time.
whither, where, and when?
only time knows.
time, locked up inside my chest.
time, spiritual, with which I bless
the present nature of my fate,
and the demons I must placate.
fresh
and new.
tested and
true.
the future
awaits no one,
but you.
time fails
the uninitiated,
drowning young souls
in longing,
and want.
where are your
shiny scars
bearing lessons
ne’er forgotten?
where are your hopes,
but swinging strangely
like black fruit
in the empty breeze?
come lay your head
on this bed of ash feathers
and arise again;
remember
fearlessness.
come give yourself
unto your birthright,
come dance within my flame.
never quench
your rightful desire,
come learn your true name.
come,
and rise
again.
a star
burning with the flames
of
missed expectations
is not a star.
it’s only
human.
slow
and
deliberate,
inexorable
in his
push
to
beautify
(or beatify?),
he licks away
her velvety mauve
with hot streaks
of his daily desire.
mellowed by his
fury
and passion,
she accedes.
she recedes.
with a graceful
knowing,
life proceeds.
drifting
above
below
and,
in between,
you wait
for me.
hidden
under sun
&
stars,
&
baobab,
you pray
for me.
your
hands
yearn
for
me.
and I,
I too
yearn
for me.
but i hear
peals of laughter
ghosting
from the mist,
and we
both
are
missed,
again.
heart
awakens before the dawn;
hands
reach across
hungrily,
for you.
there,
amongst the midnight
wanderings of the soul,
we found
each other.
we found
peace.
we laughed.
we played.
we
were
wicked
in our childish joy.
but now
as night’s slip
pulls away,
you have gone.
are you out there?
are you seeking me out?
does your soul remember
our dance
under the forests of our imaginings?
dreaming perfection:
two souls fast at love.
but.
as a dull orange
burning lustfully
lights the east,
purpose
sweeps away
the ashes of my mind.
i see my sweet
and
beautiful
phantasmal partner right here,
with me…
i feel my lover
dancing with delight,
right here
within me.
don’t run.
or you will always be
alone.
hide,
for a time,
and you will mourn,
alone.
waiting
with open
hand.
please come back
to us:
me&you…
you&me…
WE.
let us reunite
and be whole
like before.
WE
are the love
for which
you hunt.
WE
are
all we will ever need.
so,
come back, my
beloved,
let us feel
this silent stillness
together.
wither, whether, whirl,
or want,
the road awaits,
patiently.
destination determined long ago:
before eye opened.
before heart awakened.
before path chosen.
beauty,
fleeting and fickle
like the moon,
cannot guide you…at least not for true.
love,
flowing fresh and pure,
may still dry
under persevering Sun.
what compass, clue, or guide remains?
how then,
do we wind
along?
one step at a time,
this way,
or that;
our destination awaits,
patiently.
