Civilized

past the
fresh turned up dirt
of plowed field,
the trees beckon.

beneath their shadow
lies the challenge.

what fears lurk beyond?

Moon,
bright and beautiful,
caresses you
with a phantom touch:
soothingly magical,
but
not
really
here.

what fears lurk within?

i turn,
compelled by the acrid
pull of the hearth.
to drink my tea,
and dream.

Moon Rise

moon rise
and wolf cries,
and
my heart’s eye sees
you,
kneeling
with
wings unfurled.

wild wicked nights await
me
and
you.

together we wait,
alone.

God,
rain (love)
over me,
and I will grow
soft in
surrender
absolute.

i am ready
to Fall,
again,
for the last
time,
with you…
to you….
fall
for
you…

and the moon rises
up from bended knee
to reflect
once again
upon me.

Steps

following
footprints trod in the softest snow,
in summertime.

the road goes on
and incomplete,
on, and
on,
from your front door.

neither map
nor compass;
merely
keeping the heart’s course.

keeping
the soul’s course.

walking,
until…

nothing

is clean
ordorless
safe
and
free.

give enough,
and you receive
but little else

beautiful.

dare to shine,
devil may laud.

dare to love
devil guffaws.

dare
to bare
all,
and
bear the
burden
of
earnest-

and I
will laugh,
as you
star in your own
scene
from an italian restaurant.
