Stream

twisting,
and
turning,
and
slipping through
this land
and the next.

what wonders
did you trickle past
before you came
to tickle my toes?

what joy it is
to float with you
and explore these sandy shores.
in this eternal summer
of sunshine and smiles
we are,
love.

but as i climb back on land
you continue on to vistas new.
what will you see?
what will you do?

without me.

will you remember our games?
how we played happily?

will you ever return?

perhaps one day I’ll float along and find you,
but not today.
