misremembered love

ghosts
of summer rain
up,
around, and
over me
like a million fireflies laughing
on a hot dusty breeze.

...sweetness,
captured 'neath linden trees sagging under
the volume of cicadas...

and night slides
through, awakening
dreams...

and old fears too.

and
I smile deeply
into
her eyes
with delight,
finding
infinity
smiling right back:

oh this crazy love
we share:
my beautiful Tanty
and me.

more summer dreamin’

shimmers
of tomorrow flicker in the rearview,
God,
how I loved doing
those things
we would do.

if but we
were young once more,

could we,

would we,

should we

dare,
to walk once again
through that golden door
and taste the future,
in all its sweet finality?

Silent Woods

would
you dance
with me...
through flickering flame?

would you sail
with me,
through shadow
and
rain?

would you
remember
that spark
we shared,
deep in awe?

would you
love
me again,
as once
I
loved
you?

would we
but
try to live true
and free.

would
we
be...?

A Million Droplets, Hanging In The Air

the sweet whisper
of Night's wonder
lingers on
between fog
and field,
and muted heart.
-a kind caress
upon this old fool's soul.

the thrill
of our wildest abandon
lost,
in a swirl of
misplaced memories,
cloud this mist
with the sweet taste
of a destiny foregone,
and fill the
in-between
spaces
with our hidden dreams
and forgotten desire.

Dawn approaches
gently
with her ever tantalizing promise,
and
this longing
remains still.

Fulfilled

the glint of
summer, and
its gentle storms that ignite the very sky
flash
fierce across her
young eyes.

and,
dancing across his full
and trembling
lips,
the promise
of a thousand tomorrows.

and so they walk on,
with neither hope,
nor care
for what may come.

with this moment won,
nothing more needs be done

Asante Sana (digging on you)

your eyes
brimming with cool
ancient fire,
send sparks
of joy
racing
beneath my skin.

but,
the jolt of your wonder
rocks me
deep.

a future wild,
unpredictable
and free, filled
with mischief
and surprise,
awaits us.

only if

if you felt
the thrill of destiny
the way I do,

you too
would fly.

but,
if you could feel
what I feel,
maybe i wouldn't
share how
happy it feels
to be so sweet on you
(nah, I would).

so i soar, high
on this splendiferous bliss,
reminded of the magic
and the beauty
released
with every silly giggle
that set our souls awiggle,
and
each tender kiss,
shared twixt trembling lips.

and i thank you
for briefly glimpsing infinity
with me.

scratching bliss

drowning
in the tickled wordplay
of profane hucksters
lacking
depth,
and sincerity
of purpose,
and love-
like the clumsy
flailings of titillating foreplay
missing that soft
singular kiss
from trembling, anticipating lips.

glimpsing,
and
brushing
the edges
of
infinity,
yet never cleaving
unto Truth.

close your eyes,
and
taste these lips,
and slip
off this
cliff,
unto beauty,
and ruin.

Moon’s Kiss

it is not love
i seek
in your effervescent shine.

nor do I yearn
to dive too deep
into
your wonder,
and feel your splendor
unfold.

but,
as you glide
so soft across the night sky,
full of grace and
mystique,
and so much style,
you remind me of
what it means,
to be truly free.

so,
under your ancient ephemeral glow,
we laugh and
dance like demons lost,
full of decadence,
and forbidden de-
light.

too loud,
and
with piercing fire in our eyes,
we call out
your name
and give thanks
for the love you show.

Yeah,
we thank you,
and we burn so fucking bright.

Dawning Reality: Dreams For Tomorrow

darkness retreats once more,
stolen away
by pastels so soft
and so sweet...
kinda like
the bum fuzz
of trumbling bumblebees.

and the surety
of Night's mystery
is lost
once again,
to the wild wonder
and dazzle
of a new day.

but here,
right now,
in this gentle in-between,
where the witches
and fairies,
and magicians still play,

i remember when
you & I
would dance
too,
together;
blissfully innocent?
courageously optimistic?
or maybe,
just at peace
with life,
and one another.

so i dream a bit longer
and pray you do too.
